Chrome Window Trim

Chrome Window Trim
Does anyone know where I can get the chrome window trim that goes on top of the side windows on the 2.8 a4's? The dealer quoted me an arm and a leg. Or does anyone know what would be involved in doing the conversion? thanks

Sure you can.
It is just a royal pain in the ***. The trim is riveted in and is difficult to remove and replace.
luckytoesj, unless you are willing to invest significant time, money, and effort, I wouldn't pursue this very far.

oi... so there is no adjustment to it? My lower part on drivers door has "slid" back
just barely touching the begining of the chrome strip of the rear door. If it ins't adjustable, that means it was installed improperly, so probably not from the factory like this,(dun dun dun...)
oi I gotta get a carfax done on my car again...
(stupid car faxes are the worst in getting your hopes up too, all my coworkers at the dealership I work at say it's such a sham, car could have been wrecked, stolen, etc... and still not show up on their report...)

Not that I'm aware of.
Good body shops will remove the trim before painting anything in that area, then re-rivet it back in place. It could be a problem with the riveting... I wouldn't get too worked up just yet.
