I currently have an A7 as a loaner so there are some benefits to the Audi maintenance issues

Sorry for the late response. I don't visit as much as I used to. I you have a rewards card with Autozone and have it set up with an email address you will receive discount coupons on a regular. I just got one a couple days ago for 20% off a single item purchase. I use those when it comes time for a new tool.

I really need to start thinking about getting a new battery. I have an 05 with the original battery and never had any issues but the sub zero weather a couple of weeks ago gave me some slow cranks.

Is there anything I need to do special when swapping out the battery so I don't have to reset all the electronics?

I have an 05 and didn't have to reset anything other than the clock.

That's what I thought but I've had cars where you needed a code for the radio then a bunch of programming after the fact.

Thanks,

Just replaced my battery. Bought it at the dealer for $145 (core of $20); since the original lasted close to 8 years, not sure why I would look elsewhere. Connected the +/- in the front to another car using jumper cables; took the battery out. In the first try, the battery didn't go into the passenger side groove, but sat on top of it; because of which the trunk cover didn't sit flush (raised about an 0.5 inch) where the battery was located. Reinstalled it with it seating in the groves and bam, snug fit!

Took about 30 mins.

The bentley manual says something about programming/adaptation after the battery is replaced - are folks doing anything. If not, any issues?

From Bentely manual:
"If the battery was replaced, Energy Management Control Module J644 must be coded anew . "
