Default weird boost leak or wastegate problem

So the other day I teplaced a coolant goose on my 1.8t fwd tt and when I put it bavk together it wouldnt go over 6 psi boost (normal id 12 or 13) and when I rev it up bit keep it below boost or at very low boost it makes a weird sound. Sort of like a blow off valve that spits mulyiple times. My mechamiv saod it sounds like a wastegate issue but I didn't touch that. I only removed the housing holding the hoses around the dip stick in front of the engine. Any ideas on what I could have done?
