I removed mine on my donor AFC motor that went into my '94 90Q and just ran a string around the new belt path to get the new length. I also removed the entire AC system. Without the compressor down there, the belt got REALLY short. It took me three different belts from NAPA to get it prefect but they took the other two back without a problem. I think my measuring error had something to do with not taking the belt thickness into account, which can add a few millimeters. One way I thought of later, was to cut an old belt , run it around the pulleys and mark the length. That should be about perfect. Don't forget the belt tensioner when doing this. It will need to be held at the approx spot to get the right belt length. Sorry for the shade-tree mechanic type suggestions but I'm an IT guy who just happens to like wrenching now and then.

Probably too late for you. What brand electric fan are you using? I need to replace mine, the bearings sound pretty rough, and I don't remember the popular brand everyone recommended back in the day. Thanks.

The popular setup is spal. Im actually running a hayden fan and controller. It was way cheaper. Also its a 1350cfm fan on high @9.6amp draw which is good. I got the fan from an oreillly auto parts. Had it in stock for 75 bucks.
It works great and isn't too loud. Also can run while the car is off. I pulled the whole clutch fan bracket and used the stock belt. Works like a charm.
