Default Problem with VIN number.

Hi. Could you decode my VIN number of my Audi A4 B6 1.8T 2004 cabrio ? I don't know how many hp I have in my Audi. If it's not a problem you could tell me everything about equipment of that car. Somebody, who know how to do it write a message to me Thanks

Technically it came with 167hp. I have all of the other info compiled for you and just need an email address to send it to. PM me your address and I will send you the VIN breakdown.

Right on the h.p. Edmunds has it rounded off to 170. Close enough.

I hope the op contacts you for the vin breakdown so he knows what to expect when he gets to the good old USA.

Default Have hard time decoding VIN

Just bought a 2003 A4 Quattro 1.8T and like our buddy in Poland and kind of baffled by HP ratings I find. The original window sticker has it at 190HP with it having Premium and Sport upgrades.

My Chilton manual I bought the second day I owned the car lists it as either 150 or 180 HP. The frankenturbo site faqs has a choice between transverse and lateral engines but no hp designation (yes, I intend to buy the frakenturbo kit with injectors and tune and all).

On ECS tuning they split the model year between November 1st.
Does this mean cars manufactured before Nov 1st had a certain hp then after Nov 1st?

When I use vindecoder I see the car is made in Germany, but do not see much about the engine. Like everyone that would wonder about such things, I too am hoping I have the higher HP model so I can get more oomph from my mods. And before anyone throws words of warning at me. I am already collecting the right oem parts for the normal things to do like T-Belt, oil pump, water pump, cam seals, gaskets, and just bought Mobil 1 0w-40 Sunday with Mobil 1 performance filter (not sure how that is), and NGK Platinum Laser plugs. I promise to do the necessary maintenance items at same time I am doing the upgrades so I limit the weak link syndrome.

I bought the car 2 weeks ago, but have been lurking around the forums for the past six months, learning from the wise ones, and ignoring the trolls...

Thanks for any help you can give!

Dan
