Default Would you buy this car?

A dealer offered a 2013 S5 Prestige with 2600 miles for 47K (US).
The car looks good, but I got the car fax that showed "steering gear replaced" at 989 miles.
Then body computer/module reprogramed and auto transmission checked (even though the car is a manual). Any thoughts?

Isn't this car under full factory warranty for some time to come?

yes, is under warranty (factory). Is just that may be a lemon... why would someone just sell it after 2000miles after a repair?

dr, I don't think I'd form that conclusion. And the person may have moved on due to frustration or dealer issues. I think most states have rules where it must be revealed if the car was a buyback/lemon.

I'd determine that the warranty is still fully in-force on the entire car.

I assume this isn't a CPO car.

Ask to see what warranty claims have been made to date. That would likely answer all your concerns.

maybe it was the demo drive car? maybe whomever bought it got repossessed.

Ask them for the program car warranty (7/100,000 miles) that they do on those and I'd be comfortable with buying it.
