which fan clutch for 2000 atw?

there seems to be two different styles of fan clutch available for my year - 2000 a4 i.8t q, atw.
anybody know if these are interchangable? i just got the second one in the mail, and it looks like my car has the first one...

Same thing with me, had the first one and installed the second with no problem.

how did you remove the old fan clutch? I need to remove it before I could pull the bottom bolt all the way of the alternator.
