I just bought an auto b5 s4 the other day with 140k, I have many of the service records on the car but not sure if the stock k03 turbos has ever been replaced. The car has a cat back exhaust, forge diverter valves, Evolution Motorsports Intake, and an APR Stage 1 tune.

I am not sure how I missed this turbo whine when I test drove the car but I wanted to see if this is normal or my turbos are shot or will be in the near future. A few things to note; there are no leaks from the turbos at all, in the few days I have owned it the turbos boost up just fine under throttle, there's no smoke coming out of the exhaust even WOT, there is a heavy unburned gas smell that comes from the car for the first minute or so when it is a cold start.

I have been trying to compare this to videos I am seeing online and it's hard to tell what I'm facing. Sorry for the crappy video I am just freaking out now and shot it on my iPhone a little bit ago. Any help would be appreciated thank you!

The wine you hear sounds just like mine, and I have only 37K on m car.
I have a MTM stage 1 chip and Milltek exhaust, no precat.
The sound seems to be apparent when the turbos just kicks in at about 1800 to 2000 RPM.

My passenger side turbo started making that noise at about 80k. The turbo lady is making that noise. I replaced both turbos with k04's and a stage 3 kit. I'd highly recommend stage 3 if you can afford it, although you would probably need downpipes along with the kit. Alternatively, you could pick up some used k03's pretty cheap.
