Default New owner Intro

I am a new proud owner of a 2007 A8. Purchased with 47,000 km (under 30,000 miles). Car is mint, but it had the 19" sport wheels painted mate black.I'm not sure if I should keep the look or have the wheels refinished in a proper alloy color.

The A8 is replacing a very reliable Volvo 2002 S60 that received front end damage. Hoping the A8 treats me as well as the Volvo.

My other vehicles are a 2004 Land Rover Discovery (for towing) and a 1995 Porsche Carrera 4 (The 1995 993 model year is the only one I would own). I dabble with DIY repairs on both of them.

As is customary, here are the first pics I took of the car when I brought it home last Thursday.

Beautiful looking A8! Does it have the 4.2? Don't mind the black wheels, but as you said, the typical alloy color may look better. Great find! Classic Audi.

Beautiful car, nice pick up! I just picked up a 2007 S8 myself. I like the wheels but if you want some 20's I have my stock S8 Rims and a set of 20" Forged Sportec Mono 10's in the classifieds.

Welcome!

Very nice millage. Are you in Canada since you use kilometers and houses around look North American.

And yes. Those wheels look horrible. Either paint or replace them. My advice is not to go for larger diameter. It would ruin all aspects of performance.

Nice ride and thanks for the pics! I have an 06 silver metalic and was considering the black wheels and after seeing them I am with Mishar go with the stock painted look.

Beautiful looking car. The painted wheels is what's throwing it off. But other than that great find and it will give you many years of enjoyment. Enjoy the car . It'll be better than that Volvo you had lol. No comparison.

Thank you all for the feedback. The black wheels are polarizing. I ordered some 19" aftermarket rims with winter tires from Tire Rack. They are the AMG look and somewhat similar to my OEM's. I will look into having the OEM summer rims refinished over the winter.

The car is a Canadian A8 4.2L with Sport, premium and Ipod integration.

It's home is Ottawa but it's in no way affiliated with the public sector or the goverment!

Nice wheels. Easy to clean. With offset 32 they will stick out for 13 mm looking better than OEM. Not perfect for performance but it won't be a problem.

Fill Ottawa to your profile. Location always helps if you have a question and even answer.

I was looking at those same wheels in 20" for a winter package deal. Deciding whether to get the tpms installed with it or go without.
