Default Laguna trip report... thanks to ACNA GG and Gordon S., Morgan C, Steve S.

Some pix below of my weekend at Laguna Seca.

A big thanks to Gordon Sanderson and and everyone who worked so hard. What a great time. Good weather, great people, even the hills were green. ACNA GG put on another excellent event.

Thanks to Morgan Conrad and Burke Ferrari for the instructing, I don't think I frightened either one of them so I'm making progress. Also thanks to Steve S for the ride along on Friday (at the HOD day). And parked next to joec500 - Avants must represent! A shout out to Curly - 2.0Ts must represent!

I had new (scuffed in) Falken RT-615s on the car, they were excellent novice track day tires. New Hawk HPS pads and Motul 660 fluid - good performance, smooth, not a bit of fade.

So thanks again to all! Now I just need to find some track days to fill up the space between now and the ACNA GG Infineon event in October.

Default Agree about the event and people. Whenever I saw you on the track you looked like you were going...

...for quality lines rather than quantity passing. I Love that kind of driving! I'm sure your instructors enjoyed every minute of it.

Thinking about some track prep for next time. I was wondering where you found the Motul 660? And how'd you go about replacing the stock fluid?

Thanks!

Replace "joec500" w/ "BuddyDog" - no idea where that came from. Don't post tired!

Default Thanks about the lines! (better than my posting)

I appreciate the comment, I was aiming for getting the lines right. Figure learn good habits early, the pace will come.

Also, with a 2.0T Tiptronic Avant, I'm not going to be doing a lot of passing.

See below re the Motul, it's the normal 600, not a new special fluid. I got the fluid flush at Griffin, when they put the new pads on. Given Laguna is hard on brakes and I've got a heavy car, I thought I'd get some fade, but nothing.

New fluid seems like a good low cost way to upgrade the brakes.
