Hi Taylor,

What is the cost of the BG delivery system? What is the solvent cost? In the middle of doing a carbon cleaning on a Audi 3.2 liter and it is one of the worst jobs I have ever done on a car.

I agree with you in that the applications are staring from new and, starting after a manual cleaning like in my case.

On My Audi 3.2 liter, the lower air distribution housings ( I call them the lower L/R intake manifolds. It is my experience that a really good spray foam oven cleaner such as the ZEP brand really worked great in cleaning the plastic chambers as well as the metal dividers and flaps. The foam stays on the parts for hours really loosening up the baked on crud. Unfortunately, I must include myself on the list of people that was not able to find any better outcome in terms of cleaning the intake valves.ports by spending more on a cleaner. Of all the expensive products I tried for this, BG-44, Seafoam, GM upper engine cleaner, I would give the nod to the GM upper engine cleaner. But at $23/bottle, cheap carb cleaner (NOT the LOW VOC type) worked almost as well for a fraction of the price.

Can any one purchase the BG induction system?

Thanks,

Jay

The pressurized fuel rail works for cleaning the injectors but from what I understand, the 3.2 suffers from carbon buildup on the intake valves. Since these engines are direct injection into the combustion chamber, this process won't touch that. As far as BG products go, I used to work for a heavy equipment service provider some years ago. We tested dozens of these products and almost all were overpriced junk. The best we found were Justice Brothers products and GM top engine cleaner (which is readily available and cheap, thats what I use). Just find a vacuum hose near each bank of intake runners and SLOWLY use engine vacuum to suck in the top engine cleaner to clean the carbon off the valves. Be carefull as if you suck in too much, you can stall the engine or hydrolock a cylinder and cause catastrophic failure.

If you want to do a fuel injector teatment, you can get a pressurized unit made by OTC. They're readily available used on ebay for $100:
