Stock clutch cannot handle the tourqe of APR stage 1 in cold weather. Clutch won't slip in 1st or second but in 3rd and 4th it will slip and catch in the mid 3k rpm range getting on the highway. Doh!

My stage 2 was doing the exact same thing in November. I went with the Sachs rs4 clutch. Got it from rock Island auto for only$250.

I think you should be fine with an RS4 clutch if you're not going to swap bigger turbos in at some point, and I don't mean RS4 K04's as an RS4 clutch should easily be able to handle anything RS4 K04's and maybe even stock RS6 K04's (may be pushing your luck on the later) can throw at them. If you go a different direction than RS4, whatever you do just buy a QUALITY clutch kit from a reputable company like Clutch Masters, South Bend, etc as a clutch job is EXPENSIVE (expect to drop $2-3k at the end of the day). You don't want to buy a piece of $hit clutch kit to save $200-300, then have it not last it could easily cost you another $2-3k if you have a failure even if it's under warranty (which won't cover labor). I would suggest avoiding Spec simply because their customer service is f(_)cking atrocious. Either way I wouldn't go too nuts if you don't plan on upgrading your turbos in the near future as the more heavy duty the clutch is the less mileage you'll get out of it (it's a common misconception that high performance HD clutches last longer, because it's quite the opposite - I got maybe 17k out of a 6puck cintered iron disc and HD pressure plate and was told that I actually got a decent amount of life out of it given how HD it was).

Also, I'll likely be selling my Fidanza Lightweight Aluminum Flywheel in the next month or so if you're interested. It weighs 12lbs vs the 28lbs OEM weighs and it has a replaceable friction surface ($44 w/hardware included) so it would likely be the last FW you'll likely ever need. Frankly the only reason I'm selling it is because I have to go with a twin disc clutch set up as my car is going to be making around 630-650whp and 590+wtq. There isn't a single disc setup that can reliably hold that much for very long and all twin disc setups have to be used with the manufacturer's proprietary flywheel that's part of the kit (except 034's Tilton setup which still uses a FW unique to that particular setup that 034 manufactures in-house).
