You guys are high if you think any wrecker would give him anything over 500 bucks for the cars salvage. Using book value minus repair cost is not how it works sorry. Its a dead audi. its worth about 500 bucks. Around here a wrecker would give 200$ if the engine and trans are still in it. If your selling it, anything over 1000 people in the market for broken cars will just laugh.

All the Audis i have purchased have been dead, either trans, engine, too much repairs overall. They have NO value not running and driving. Some specialty salvage yards will pay more but the main money maker is blown up under the hood. Wreckers like crashed cars for the valuable mechanical parts. if the mechanical parts are garbage whats there to sell. a hood or fender or seat which have no demand for...

I'm located in Wisconsin, USA - color is silver. Had it towed to a local shop and they told me it threw a rod. I had aluminum pan chunks and other part remnants on my driveway in addition to about 4+ of oil. Not really looking to part-out, looking more to sell and move on. Thanks all.

If shop knows someone who needs a trans you might get lucky but probably not for $2k. Ask the shop if they know a 3.0, you could put. 1500 plus labor and aye get 5-6k for it but its not exactly wheeler dealer. It's a parts ar for someone with a blown trans who can transfer the engine. Unless you have storage and part it yourself...

Sloop he never said that in his first post and mine was second, I don't know what the guy knows about cars or if someone is taking him for a stooge.

But he did say it after your 9 posts.

Yes..I know he didn't say it in his first post…that was my SWAG how he knew he threw a rod…."What is hole in engine block, Alex?", not-so-subtle reference to Jeopardy answer/question.
