Help ID this Vacuum Part

I do have one lingering question about the vacuum system here:

Where does the line go that goes into the same rubber boot the AC lines do, in towards the cabin? Is this something to do with actuating valves for the climate control?

You can see I drew that line going from a check valve at the top of the board. Thanks!

dalspaugh, you never have told us what model or year car this is. We can tell it's a 12v manual, but that's all.

Oh, my bad, it's a 1995 90 v6 manual Quattro.

Also, as a quick note, my differential lock has started to work and worked numerous times over the weekend at a rallyX without fail. I'm guessing it was just a little stuck from not being used for about a year.
