88 NG 90q driveablilty/timing 2 issues
First off, hi there. 88 90Q with an NG up here in Maine. I was a member a LOOONG time ago, with an email address I havent been in in 2 years (and different 80's audis, coupe GT, 5K avant q, another 90q etc.). So I had to re-register.
My 88's issue is this. Around a month ago I hit a puddle and the engine bogged down something fierce. Pulled the Timing 2 fuse and it came back to life, albeit with reduced power. Dried out for the weekend, put timing 2 fuse back in. Drive for a few days, no issue. CEL comes on on the highway, get off my usual exit, bogs down (not wet out). Pull timing 2, gets me home. Checked CEL, flashes code 1-1-1-1. try to start with T2 fuse pulled, no go. Now it seems like every time I start it, once it warms up I have to pull the timing 2 fuse and limp around. Coolant temp sensor for ecu replaced (the one underneath) last week, no vac leaks, hall sensor connector was soft, I repaired that. New plugs, wires, cap, rotor done recently just as routine maintenance. Synthetic since new, was well cared for. This is just frustrating. Thanks in advance for the tips

Code 1-1-1-1 (nothing wrong) on this engine is normal and varia mentioned already, check the wiring from ECU to every sensor , connection and ground circuit includes engine to negative of Battery.
