At risk of being a little snarky, I have to ask WHY someone who offers a local service should cross-post on a bazillion global forums????

I'm all in favor of advertisers paying for the site, but does it make sense for either the advertiser or the site for him to post outside a regional forum???? Ok, maybe a regional forum and one specific to his product?

This would be like me advertising a Colorado car-themed sit-down restaurant in A1/A3/A4/A6/A7/A8 forums. Well, actually I suspect more people would transport themselves cross-country or cross-continent to visit a restaurant than they would their *car* to visit a service.


Sorry, maybe I'm just ranting - but maybe there should be room for a "local advertiser" kind of sponsorship that might cut down on this?

I see he's making the rounds again, so curious if there was a verdict back? I'm willing to shut up if this kind of behavior is officially sanctioned - it just seems counterproductive.
