Default Seat heat working properly?

2011 Q5 Premium Plus here. New to me, about a month now. It's been cold here in Northern California (well, relative to our usual -- 30 at night, 45-50 daytimes) and I've had my seat heater turned all the way up to 6 in the a.m. However, it doesn't seem to get very hot; barely warm at all, actually. In my wife's S4 Cab, after a minute or so on maximum, one feels like the Prospector in Toy Story 2: "My biscuits is burnin'!" Any thoughts? I don't expect a dealer service for at least 6-9 months so maybe I should just deal until warmer weather?

If still under warranty, deal with it now. Sounds like a problem.

I do seem to remember a number of pre-facelift owners complaining about the heat level (or lack thereof), but you should ask about it anyway just to make sure that there's not something needing to be adjusted/fixed (vs. a design issue and that's just how it is for whatever reason).

It's a CPO and I paid a couple extra grand to extend the warranty through October 2018. So no hurries; just more annoying than anything! Thanks.

My 2012 was the same (by design apparently) but the dealer fixed it. So before it was on 6 from Nov-Mar and now 6 gets too hot after about 5-10 minutes.

So there's hope yet for my cold sorry *ss, er, behind! It rarely gets this cold in CA so the only time I'd be really uncomfortable is our 3-4x/year annual trips to the Sierra.
