No I can't confirm this -- did do a bit of digging :

http://www.audi.ddsltd.com/cgi-bin/default

has some TSB's -- I found :

Extended Descriptions for Item A440818
Technical Bulletins
Group: 44
Number: 08-18
Date Published: 12/23/2008
Subject:
44 Steering wheel shimmy vibration and/or oscillation (8T/8K)
Model(s): Year(s):
A4 A5 2008-2009

Way back in Dec though -- not likely the correct new one with the info about the re-designed control arms.

I thought the 2010 models were supposed to not have this problem (already had the new arms). Yours might actually be a tire/balance problem.

Its not the TSB with the control arm replacement. I just got a copy of the service manual on DVD, it includes TSBs and automatic updates. When it appears I'll forward it to the group.

Not all 2010's must have been built with the new arms. There were 2010 A4's (maybe early production) that had the 60 MPH vibration, and there are a few posts on the A5 boards from 2010 A5/S5 owners with the same problem.

Just had my '09 A4 in for 15,000 mile service this past Tuesday. Asked my Service Advisor if a TSB has been issued yet for the low speed shudder. He acknowledged the issue and informed me that they haven't received any word on the low speed shudder yet.

Quick update, my new control arms came in. Only took 2 weeks. Will be having them installed later this week and will report back.

Funny. My now old Passat B5.5 has the same issue. I am not sure when I first noticed it assumed it and was just normal wear of the suspension. But perhaps there is something inherent in the control arm design that makes it vibrate a little after something loosens the tolerances (wear, bump hit, etc.)

I noticed a strong vibration after starting the car yesterday. It felt almost like the car was about to stall. I gave it a bit of gas, it went away and didn't come back.

To avoid any confusion to readers following this thread, this is unrelated to the two vibration issues addressed here.

Just an update on my situation (10' Avant w/ 65MPH vibration)...had an 8:30 appointment with the dealer this morning and advised the SM of the issue. I asked him if there was a TSB on this and was told that none has been issued but is a pretty commom problem with the A5s and a few A4s. He knew about the lower control arm bushings being too firm and the protocol before AOA could approve a replacement.

They road force balanced the wheels and as expected, to no avail. Almost seemed like a formality. Nonetheless, dealer got approval to order a set of control arms and was told that the wait is 6-8 weeks. No big deal for me as this is not a safety issue. Early build 2010 models come equipped with the old style control arms. Mine has a 5/09 build date -- one of the first 2010 batches made.

Update...

I brought my car in for these issues and the low speed shudder didn't act up any more..however the 60-70MPH steering wheel vibration was resolved.

According to the tech that worked on the car I had 3 of my wheels out of balanced and when I drove it home today I didn't notice any shaking and it felt 100% better.

Cruising from 45-75 was smooth, rolling at 60-70 was smooth with no shakes..

At least for me one issue was resolved. If the low speed shudder acts up again I was told to bring it in again..
