Default Pissed and Need Advice!!!

Ok, I have a 98.5 A4 1.8T with 82K miles. About 10 months ago I had my light switch go out and I (unknowingly) brought it into Audi and had it replaced for about $550. 8 months later the light switch goes out again, and since I was over the 12K miles warrenty they said they wanted another 550 to replace the switch and told me they could find nothing else wrong but the switch. I passed the second time and choose to do the switch myself. I bought a used, but in very good shape switch, and put it in. Lights worked great up untill tonight, when they wouldn't work again! This is the 3rd time in a year that this is happening. I have no mods done to the lights except for Syliva Silver star light bulbs.

What the hell is going on! I really am just about to get rid of this POS!

Please Help,
David

Default Sounds like you might need to incorporate a relay

Are the bulbs rated at 55w or are they a higher wattage?

Default Whats a relay? And yes I do believe the bulbs are rated at 55w...

I've heard this problem happening in the B5, but never this many times.

You had the the same bulbs, and that was the cause?

Default I'm fuzzy at best on car electronics

Try a search - I'm sure there's a writeup somewhere.

I would stick to an HID Conversion kit for the future. :/
