Default Sun Roof Issue

I wanted to know if anyone has heard of anything like this or might know of the cause. I was driving my 2014 Audi Q7 on a freeway doing about 65-70 last week (not under an overpass) and all of sudden I heard a bang like explosion. My sunroof started to fall apart and parts of the sunroof started to shower down on the front and passenger seat. We cleaned all the glass in the car and didn't find anything that would of been a rock or something else to cause the damage. The sunroof was closed at the time of the incident. I have noticed that in the 4 months I have had the car that it has vibrated a couple of times when driving over 70mph. Any ideas or thoughts would be appreciated.

Thx,
Concerned 2014 Q7 Audi Owner

That seems very crazy. I've cruised at 120-130MPH for hours here in Europe and no issues. The vibration may be a clue but that glass is pretty hard. Even something on the tracks shouldn't cause this to happen. Doubt if wheel balance would cause this either. Maybe a huge piece of hail or ice?

I've read about this before (just google "exploding sunroof" and see how many hits come up), and it's not just limited to Audi's. Here's an article from NBC news:
