This summer the fan motor went out. After replacing it the first time that it ran some smoke can out of the vents for a short time. That night i went on a long road trip to southern cal and we about froze the a/c was stuck on high. On the way home a/c stopped working, the fan runs put the temp is just out side air temp. Were do i start ??????

Start with a VagCom reading (climate control fault codes)...could be a temp mixing flap stuck or bad flap motor or bad temp sensor.
Could even be a bad refrigerant pressure switch under the hood.
