Voice command on A5/S5 cabrio
I have recently purchased an A5 Sline cabrio and have found out that the voice command is deactivated at the Audi factory on all A5/S5 cabrios. Something to do with idiots complaining that it wasn't working well with the top down, so to prevent complaints, they deactivated it. I found a dealer who would try and activate it, but he failed. Has anyone succeeded in reactivating their voice command and how please?

This is a well covered topic and unfortunately the only way to do this is to get the VAG COM cable.
Once you buy the cable, sharding has posted the instructions for how to activate it.

With VAG COM you can do some other stuff too like turn off the "wink" with your turn signal, but truthfully it's kind of pricey so it's a personal decision whether this is worth it. To me it was as I use the voice command a fair bit.

$349 for software and cable. The cable is cheap...

You can probably find it cheaper on ebay. Or you can probably get your dealer to change the code for you. Its very minor/easy to do.

One thing I would do is copy the existing codes before you make any changes just in case (e.g. there's some default code that you need to change one digit in to enable voice command).

I can see cheap cables on ebay for this for like $10. Is there also software needed? I am not the most technical guy in the world but think this doesn't sound like rocket science...
Or, is there anyone in the Denver area willing to help me with this for some $?
