Default MMI problem on my 2004 A8

good day for all. my 2004 A8 drives like new. how ever last week had some problem with the MMI for the first time. it wont go on.the car runs normal but i cant access any of the MMI functions.no radio or navigation.when i press the power bottom the MMI starts for 10 seconds and then closes.like starting a computer with no luck.BUT then after 1 hour the MMI starts working normally.( append 2 times in the last 2 days).before i go to my mechanic any idea ?
thanks yuval

One or some of the MOST components is intermittently loose or bad at the optical connector or cables. If you can, check and push in all the optical connectors for all MOST components: I had the same problem and I reached in the back of the glove box where the Head controller, the gateway, the CD, and feel the connectors and push them in. In the trunk, check the NAV DVD cable, the RADIO, the SAT radio if you have one.

My problems of MMI never came back since.

Cheers,

Louis

Also if you have a button that is stuck in pressed mode, it will do the same thing. Just before it shuts down, all the lights on the MMI will turn on for a split second and MMI shuts down. I could not figure out what was the problem for a day but I figured it out. I guess I was hitting a button sometimes when I was putting my wheelchair to the passenger side. I cleaned the button with electrical contact cleaner and no more issues.
