1997 A8Q starts then dies
Had the D/S head off (thus also intake manifold, front end etc) for a heli-coil. Did timing belt with Blauparts' tools. Once I got the engine speed sensor hooked up the car starts great, then runs a little while, stumbles, and dies without throwing a code. No codes are set except AT 17087, brake light switch. We can put that aside for now, perhaps I just didn't push the pedal at the right time.
I'm told this is commonly a vac problem. Anyone have a good pic/diagram of the vacuum clusterfail at the back of the intake manifold?
Also the fan switches on and won't stop when I switch on the ignition. Did I connect it to the wrong connector or something? I noticed that although most of these connectors are keyed or at least available in a keyed variant which I've seen on another car, they didn't bother to use connectors with alternating keys in alternating locations so you can plug some connectors in incorrectly...
