Default New D2 S8 Owner

Hi all. I am proud to say that I am finally, after many years, an offical Audi owner. I just picked up a very well cared for 2002 S8. It is black/black with alcantara seat inserts. I believe the car has every single option that Audi offered on the car. It currently has 155K on the clock and needs a few things here and there but is very sound mechanically. The good news is that the paint is 100% original and in fantastic shape. The car is accident and corrosion free so I could not be happier. I have been a long time Rennlist member as I am a Porsche water hauler junkie. It is about time I bought a proper Audi for my daily driver. Here is a pic of her loaded on the trailer. I had to drive to Minnesota yesterday to pick her up. Burrrrrrrrr!

Car looks really nice. May I ask how much you paid for it?

I gave $6800 for it. Bought it from the second owner. It needs a few things but what 155K mile car doesn't?

Looks just like mine

If you're handy with the spanners you'll save a lot of money with this car.
They are great machines and you'll love her!
$6800 - can't believe how cheap you lot get cars... I paid AU$16k for mine 15 months ago and in our market I consider that a bargain!
That's a lot of car for the money... Enjoy!

Ya, most of the flagship cars depreciate very quickly in the states it seems. That's a good thing because that allows less wealthy enthusiasts like myself to obtain these fine automobiles. I turn my own wrenches and one of my best friends is a 15 year master Audi tech that specialized in the D2 A8/S8.

My buddy and I have been over the car in detail and it seems the car is living up to expectations. The body is in exceptional condition. This was a surprise as the car has lived in Minnesota since 2009. The suspension is shot as expected. The car needs an idler pully as well to bring it back to 100% functionality. I plan on totally restoring the car to like new condition over time. I figure I will have about $15K in the car to get it back on the road safely and fix the nagging little issues here and there.

Audi sure loves their parts. I'll start a thread outlining the cars restoration soon. I drove the car a very short distance yesterday to put it away until the parts come in. I must say it is a very neat car to drive. I am very excited about the years to come.
