Closing sunroof on '01 A8Lne
Do anyone know the location of the access point to close the sunroof by hand? My sunroof is stuck and I close it until I can get it fixed. Thanks

A note:
The 2nd step SHOULD read to "carefully pry the LIGHT HOUSING downward"...not the LENS, which was already removed in step #1.
^^ Audi typo from my owner's manual ^^

The mechanic I got it from said that it did not have a manual close on it. I looked at him like he was an idiot,I knew better. So I did a little looking around and found this forum and it took me less than 10 mins to close. Thanks again.

Hopefully this will be helpful to someone as I didn't find this information yesterday...
My sunroof somehow lost the home position. Closed was half way open and open it was definitely bumping up against the rear stops. Winding it manually closed worked, but it still didn't open and close correctly. What I learned was when you install the tool, if you push up about 1/4" it disconnects the motor from the cables. This lets you move the sunroof relative to where the motor thinks it is. So, in my half closed position I pushed up on socket head that winds the cables and moved the sunroof fully forward. It all works correctly again. No idea why it got screwed up in the first place.

Wow. It pays to check back here once in a while. My sunroof has been stuck at a point where it won't close tight since last summer. It only tries to move in either direction and makes a short "err" sound.
Because it would leak, I pushed a rubber gasket thing in to stop it water dripping out of the light in a heavy rain or car wash.
I never read the part about pushing up the hex key. This weekend I was planning to put a careful bead of silicone all around and never try to open it again.
Tomorrow I will try pushing the hex key up and see what happens.
