RDP595

Hi,

My speedometer started acting intermittmently today. Comes on for about ten seconds or so then goes back to 0. The odometer stops as well. The cruise does not work when the speedometer is not working. Is there a pickup/sensor that controls this ???

...assuming it's done the same way on a 100 on mine (a late A6 TDI), it's on the right hand side of gearbox, (standing in front of the car looking at the engine), above where the drive shaft comes out. Check the plug pins for corrosion and the wiring for damage before condemning the sensor.. if it's none of these could be dash wiring but not as likely...
