How long will it last?
Here's the classic question. Given the history over the past 2 1/2 yrs, any guesses on whether it will keep on going like the energizer bunny or will a big repair make the decision for me?
For perspective, I am too old to do the kind of things I used to do so I'm at the mercy of a shop. (I have a relatively good one.
It's a 2000 a8L with 215,00 miles, bought in late 2010 with 125,000K. PO just had tranny rebuilt came with written warranty for a year. I'm past that but no problems.
Following purchase I had several seals in drive line replaced and put on a new set of skins.
I like the car; comfortable and gets halfway decent mpg. I drive it like an old man (hey, I am one) Other than a few nuisance items, I'm happy. (I may even figure out the sun roof, thanks to a recent post)
Major things were done:
T-belt full job 165K,
vicus fan clutch, 165K
Electric fan at 165K
Fuel pump at 170K
Tranny flush at 176K
power steering flush at 178K
brake juice at 180K
Altenator at 180K
Right side cam chain tensioner at 185K
New bilstiens all around at 200K
A few front parts off and on, not too expensive, everything is fairly tight
Front rotors and pads(eight)just done
I just put a another set of rubbers second set of skins since there were 7oK on the ones I bought then I got it.
Any thoughts?
