I was just curious if it were possible to bore my 2.7 out to a 3.0. It's just a hypothetical question at this point but if it is possible then I'd really consider it for the future. I think it'll be fun and unique if it were possible to pull off.

3.0 pistons are not forged and that bore size runs real thin on the cylinder walls, Turbo's right the best way to pack more air is in the KO4's for more volume.

Yes, it has been done, and more than once. 034 Motorsport is selling its 2 race cars, one of which is a heavily modified Golf with the 2.7 engine bored out to 3.0. With other mods, it is pushing 1,000 HP.

But is it practical? You're better off installing a pair of K04s or else get Tials.
