Default What is the procedure to test the IM tuning valve position sensor

Pulled code P2006 on my 06 A6 3.2 L. Could not find any broken/leaking vacuum lines.

Next took the drive housing apart and checked both flaps. Both moved. The passenger flap seemed to have a little bit more play in it than the drivers side. The passenger side did move it's full travel when I applied vacuum to it with a vacuum pump.

So Audi experts, 3 questions-

How can you test the position sensor to determine if it's working properly?

Also, can you tell if the flaps have worn their way out of the runner and you need to replace the manifold?

Thanks for any advise
