Any challenges? Did you need a new airbag?

Yes, you need a new airbag.

Have you come across this link:

I like to know DIY of replacing steering wheel, for my dealer would charge 3 hours. The total cost of swapping steering wheel would become $2000 and it is too much for me.

You lose the heated steering wheel if you have one currently. The posted thread on AZ has the best info on it.

Does anyone have a DIY? I did this on my B7 A4, wasn't too hard, but want to make sure I don't accidentally blow the airbag or something.

There is an audizine thread. Europrice.us sells a plug and play fbsw starting at $1699 with shift paddles or $1499 without the paddles. They come in black with white , silver, brown, black or red stitching. None have heating and you likely loose the vibration with the lane departure warning if you have that feature.

Lane Departure vibration is in the column in the A6, not the wheel like the A8. A new wheel should still vibrate.

That's just what Alex from europrice.us said. I don't have one myself. He said the S3 airbags that are on ebay don't plug into the air bag harness either...

Any idea of the search criteria? I have found nothing in regards to doing this on a C7
