Default Sand blasting... not exactly finish detailing but a few questions for any one with experience

Sears.com has a $15 syphon feed 4lb sand blaster that I could attach to my air compressor. A 50lb presurized blaster costs like $80. The immediate need is steel rims, cleaning up all the rust. Also I'd want to use it for patio furniture that is a bear to wirebrush clean before repainting (it's been 5-7 years and needs it again)
So with the $15 option would i just be killing myself with extra laybor refilling the thing and the soft pressure? I hear the presurized ones are alot stronger.

Default Not sure if this will help....

I had to refinish a set of wrought iron chairs and a table.

I tried paint remover on the ten coats of paint they carried and two applications relieved about 30% of the paint. Wire brush got another 10%.

I bought the media blaster kit from Harbor Freight..basically just the air gun with a hopper on top for the media. I used walnut shells. Attached it to my Craftsman compressor.

It worked perfectly. It was a pain to keep filling the hopper...but for occassionial use it is fine.

Default Laquer thinner & paint pans

Just keep pouring it up and on the furniture. The paint will strip right off over time :-) Clean it with some denatured alcohol, make sure it's dry and paint away.
