Paul, I kinda stumbled upon it. it's not in an obvious place. Let me back track this weekend and see where I got this screen capture...it's probably the Central Convenience module:

Default Highway Light Function

Interesting! I wonder what the Highway Light function, that doesn't activate until 90mph, is? Most of us aren't driving that fast (well, at least not during the winter with snowy/icy roads).

I've got that activated on my car, though I can't notice anything for the reason you've mentioned.

There's another thread on this...not sure if I can find it.

The theory is that the shape of the low beams changes for greater reach as you travel faster. IIRC, it kicks in around 72mph and maxes out at 90. Maybe you'd notice it if it were very dark.

Thanks for the info! How do you get to that screen shot? Under coding? Adaptation? I have never seen anything like that.

Yes, Coding > Long Coding brings you to that view.

Thanks....I will try that. I assume it is the control module that when I did the output tests it did the tests on the wipers.

I tried logging in again and could not find any control modules that had a "long coding" option. I am running the latest of VCDS...is there any trick to this?

I think mine works extremely well, when little rain, it's slow, and when it rains hard, it's fast. Is it what it supposed to do? I seldom use the speed switch any more.

Cheers,

Louis

Went out again tonight....the only modules that I found long coding as a default were:

• 01 Engine
• 0E Media Player
• 11 Engine II
• 31 Engine other
• 19 CAN Gateway

Is there a way to get the other modules to show long coding? These did not have anything to do with the wipers.

I did clean the windshield very well above the sensor (which I never saw before) and will see how they work during the next rains.
