front defrost and heat to feet at same time
Hi, in every car I've ever been in I've been able to do front defrost and have heat shoot at feet at the same time (universal symbol is the defrost sign with an arrow pointed down). I don't seem to have that setting in the A6. It's gotten quite cold and snowy here in Chicago...I'm wondering how I missed this last year (my first winter with the A6). Am I missing something? thanks!

From the manual it appears that the 4 zone climate control has the ability but not the 3 zone climate control. I will have to try my 4 zone tonight to see. If you have a 3 zone control did you try activating more than one button at a time. Not sure if that is actually possible though??

Here is a pic of the button on the dash.

I think that the OP is referring to a menu in the Car>Settings>AC menu that allows for separate control of the footwell temp. I don't remember exactly but check the MMI menus.

There is a setting in the Car>Car Sytems>AC for adjusting the footwell temp cooler or warmer but not for selecting defrost and footwell distribution. I'm pretty sute it can be done with the vent distribution button on the dash as previously mentioned.

i've seen the footwell temp setting. I'm talking about having front defrost on at the same time as lower footwell heat. every car has this setting....except ours (from what i can see)

You may be right - I'll have to check mine. I notmally leave the climate control set to Auto which works well 95% of the time to keep us comfortable year round. It's actually a pretty smart system - IMO one of the things Audi got right over the years.

I'm pretty sure it is possible, on my 4-zone climate control I'm pretty sure you just press the button that DanfZX14 posted a picture of and scroll the temperature **** until the top and bottom arrows are illuminated on the display. I rarely take it off auto (luckily it doesn't get too cold here), but I seem to remember it working that way when I was playing with every button in the car after I brought it home for the first time.
