Default Is load securing set for C6 compatible with C7?

I have a rail system for fixing luggage in the trunk of my car. It currently consists of two rails, four movable hook attachments and a securing net. This works great for pressing smaller items to the floor, but I find it uncomfortable for securing larger items, both for myself and for those items

Among Audi accessories I found a "load securing set" (item 4F9061206): https://shops.audi.com/en_GB/web/zub...et-4f9061206-9

It seems that this set would address my need to restrict the movement of larger items. However, if I read the model list correctly, it's only compatible with C6, not C7. Is this really true? Does anyone know what is the difference between the luggage rail systems of C6 and C7?

While I still hope that someone answers (I just can't believe nobody would have tried it), let me share my research so far.

It seems that the "tie down hook" has changed from 4F9863539 in C6 to 4F9863539 in C7. It is more square for 4F (both for the overall shape and the bottom attachment, see 4F9863539 05-11 AUDI A6 C6 AVANT 3.2 - REAR STORAGE / CARGO RAIL HOOK / TIE DOWN SET) and more round for 4G (both for the overall shape and the bottom attachment, see below).

Interestingly, those two different attachments seem to be mixed in 4F9860378D:
NEU ORIG. VW AUDI FIXIERSET 4F9?860378D FIXKIT 4F9863539 CAYENNE A4 A6 Q5 PASSAT | eBay

So are they compatible? Is perhaps the "retaining strip" the same and only the "tie down hook" was facelifted? The philosophy of two attachment versions seems to be the same, there are two sliding surfaces (top and bottom) and a metal brick which can be pushed down to align with the bottom surface so that the "hook" can slide. Normally the metal brick sticks out and blocks the "hook" in place.

I think the question boils down to whether the two attachment versions have the same critical dimensions. Here are my measurements:

The distance between the two sliding surfaces is 5 mm (0.2 in). The bottom surface measures 23x28 mm (0.9x1.1 in), which is important as it needs to fit in the widening in the "strip". The metal brick raises 3.5 mm (0.14 in) above the bottom surface and measures 10x18 mm (0.4x0.7 in) along the sliding surface. When fully depressed, it reaches 13.5mm (0.55 in) in depth from the top surface. The final important dimension is the guide which travels in the opening in the rail, which measures 13.5 mm (0.55 in).

Can anyone compare those measurements to the properties of the "square" attachment? I might need to ask on the C6 forum, is guess...

Where are you located? Since the C7 Avant was never available in NA, it's possible your potentail respondents would be limited to those from other countries. (You might want to add your location in your avatar - not all countries offer the same models or features).

In any case, I have not seen any C7 forum posts from anyone who has used this luggage load set.

I am in Zurich, Switzerland. I added my location under the avatar to make this clear, thanks for the hint.

I see that there are Avant posts appearing in C6 forum way more often than on this C7 forum, so maybe I will ask for help over there too.

Thanks!

That's because the C6 Avant was also offered in NA so there would be more activity in that forum.
