A7 multitronic feedback

A7 multitronic feedback
I've an A6 on order with the 3.0 TDI multitronic gearbox. My wife isn't too keen with this idea as she hated the gearbox when she used to have a A4 2.0TDI.
As the A7 is essentially the same under the skin as the A6, has anyone any feedback with the multi gearbox ? I don't mind the quattro s-tronic, but was looking to save a few mpg and ££'s.
Thanks

I thought all A6 and 7's paired with the 3.0TDI would be w/ quattro. If thats true that means no multitronic as that gearbox is only for FWD vehicles. Maybe that is only for the US...

I don't believe the US will get FWD for the A7. We get a choice of the 2.0 or the 3.0 TDI's in the UK. It usually snows here once or twice in a year for a week or so, and the wife can take the A8 for that week.
I read somewhere that the multi is slow to say the least. Unfortunately, my dealer hasn't got a FWD at the moment, so I am getting an A7 3.0 TDI for a few days as the A8 is getting a new rear windscreen. At least I'll get a chance to see if it's (a) fun (b) frugal. Hopefully in the next 2 weeks they can source a FWD car to try.
I've been on a test track with an A7 quattro diesel, driven by a professional driver, and I know it can handle :-)
