Default Re: car minus the engine

How did I do? I pulled the engine the first two times.I heard that you were doing turbos again from C&G and got worried that I was going to have to do them again.

Default not this time. when i change my turbos we are going to film it and hopefully edit it onto a dvd

with chapters and all. it didnt make sense to film this swap as it is the first one weve done.

hah, well after getting the motor out I can bet you are probably happy to not have to do it again. what were they thinking when they designed this system. When it is all wrapped up and runnign well I'll bring the car down to sewickley for some rides.

Default here's a pic of driveshaft bolts I bought from mcmastercarr

The six driveshaft bolts are allen head. I bought this bag of 25 bolts for $5. I stripped one of the old bolts and had to cut it with a dremel.

Default question:

are those bolts the ones that hold on the cover over the grease packed bearing assembly?

we originally tried to get the driveshaft to come apart at that point per simpplys instructions, but the thing WOULD NOT BUDGE at all. we eventually had to unbolt the 6 torx bolts that cap the end of the tranny to get it apart.

which way is correct? i cant imagine that pulling apart that bearing is the right way to do it every time... it was rock solid in there and pretty messy. the tranny cover came off no problem. *shrug* it sucked either way though, messy.. =(
