Obligatory VIR Post - It's overdue

3rd. Gotta love how at ~80mph the rear-left found dirt but the front didn't. :P
Oh, and the day before at turn 1 where I followed arob's line (and later Jim's) onto the lawn. :P

2nd, take your time with any photos. Great seeing you guys, sorry I didn' tmix/mingle more...
...but I was in a daze and in sensory-overload the whole time. :P I was on the tower for a few of yours and Jim's fly-bys...the 2.7 whistled by while the MB had a suprisingly pronounced growl...VERY cool!

Yeah, I know who you are. :)
I drive a black B6 3.0. I went to lunch with you, Drew, and KJ one time at that Italian joint on Duke Street.
But my brother (black 99 Supercharged Cobra) took a ride with you back in October at Summit Point.

Here was my setup
ECS slotted rotors, Motul 600 fluid, and Pagid Black pads (the aggressive street/light track use pads).
I run Bridgestone Potenza S03 street tires. I do now that I wasn't braking as late as I should have been, which surely heated the brakes up more. But even with braking later, the brakes were just losing it at the end of the session.

How old are the pads...
... how much material is left?
If youre using old pads, the compound wont be as effective... especially if there is less than half material left it starts to both wear and heat up a lot faster.
Email me and I'll set you up w/ some pads for next event

I agree. I measured my rotor temps after a cool down and they were still 710 degrees!
I wonder what the temps were as I hit turn one!
The AMG rotors (pretty big and vented -- although the vent holes were mostly plugged) and ceramic pads worked fine the whole time, but for a bit of fade at my last session. I was pushing hard enough (128 in both straights) and I was usually braking as or after others in front of me. I feel lucky that the pads handled the track AND are OK for street use.
And, of course, kudos to the ATE Racing Blue Brake Fluid from Jimmy's Garage.
