Engine Rebuild

Engine Rebuild
Hello,
I have a 1974 Audi 100 LS that is in amazing shape. She is still running fine, but after 91,000 miles, I am noticing a bit of smoke when I start it sometimes (when the engine is warm, but not hot). I suspect that the rings are starting to go and that she is starting to burn a little oil too - hey - it's been 31 years!
Anyway, does anyone know who can do a top notch engine rebuild in the Toronto area for this car, including engine pull-out and installation? There is no rush, but I probably will want to do this next year or the year after. Also, what will this roughly cost?
Thanks - Andy

Re: Engine Rebuild
You probably don't need an engine rebuild at all. I would suspect that the valve guide seals have gotten brittle from old age and broke. This will cause your engine to smoke when starting and on engine decel. If your rings were shot it would smoke heavily all the time.
