A co-worker had road debris hit his front camera and crack the lens cover. Does anyone know if this is something that he could try to replace himself? Also know of anywhere to order it from besides the dealer? He was hoping to get a better price if possible.

I searched and didn't see anything relating to the front camera replacement.

Same thing happened to me. Cracked the glass. Looks like they have to replace the whole camera assembly and reset all the camera based systems. I did convince my insurance company that to do the work under my glass policy. It took them two days before they agreed.

I'm a bit confused. The front camera is behind the windshield above the rear view mirror, is the wind shield crack?

The camera in the front is the night vision camera with the innovation package.

Which camera are you referring to?

There are 3 cameras on the front. One for the lane assist which is what you are referring to, behind the windshield and in front of the mirror. The front camera for the parking system is on the grille under the Audi rings, and the infrared camera is in the Audi rings on the front grille.

Front view is the one. That sucks the whole thing needs to be replaced.

I found one in the UK on eBay. ~$150 USD or best offer. It says it's for the A6 but doesn't mention what model year. Contact the seller for more info and offer 10-15% less.

Another option is to find someone parting out a A6 and ask them if they have a camera available. I found four different sellers when I was looking at A7 stuff.
