It did turn by hand, I had to turn it to get the torque converter bolted up.
So I metered the starter today and it has power. I also do have the correct harness plugged into the correct box. One thing I'm kinda hung up on is that I don't hear the fuel pump when I turn the key.

If the flywheel sensor was plugged into the wrong plug, and therefor wasn't reading a flywheel, would it not try and turn the motor? I remember there being 2, three pin plugs under the cruise control.

I replaced the starter today (it wasn't working anymore) and still nothing.
I'm afraid that I'm down to pulling the engine back out and putting all back in just to make sure you have everything plugged where its supposed to go.

So I guess I'll start on that tomorrow

Did you check that "junction box" down by starter/alternator/all the connections around it. I looked on the spare motor, and there's a 3 pin connector with black/green/brown all larger wire coming out of engine harness and plugs in somewhere close to back of engine...No idea what it goes to but looks like it powers something.

Swap the flywheel sensor connectors...you might have got them backwards.

They tell Motronic ECU to energize fuel pump, and if you've got them swapped, not happening....Tom

And since I still can't recall how to post pics(help anyone), here''s the pic of the stray connector off the main engine harness on parts motor(still not sure what it goes to, but it's near the firewall somewhere)......

Still cant figure out why i'm not getting fuel. I dripped a little in the cylinder and it fired on it. I metered the fuel pump relay where the fuse goes and its getting like 8 v when i turn on the key.

Default Update

Finally got the damn thing running and driving, now it feels gutless. My 4000 with almost 300k has more go than the V8.
So,. What does anyone think about tuning this engine and how to do it? Maybe the timing is off just a bit somehow?
I'm supposed to take it to a shop to have it looked at, due to now working graveyard and I have no time left. I just figured I would ask around first.
Thanks
