anyone use older serial vagcom with radio shack usb converter?
I think I got the unicom vag device which was working fine with the radio shack adapter on my 99.5 audi but its not working with 05 a4 I just got. Some things work but not engine and instruments # 17 I believe. Get baud sync error. So I was just wondering if anyone was able to get it to work by changing speeds and other settings around. I tried changing some but no luck. I know there's that pcmcia serial adapter but that's just as expensive as a new vag tool from ross. Thanx justin

You may want to consider our upgrade program, money well spent - especially because VCDS-lite (or even the old VAG-COM 311/409) is not really up for all the stuff in a 2005 Audi A4.
USB<>RS232 Adapters will usually give you some trouble to begin with, depending on their quality and configuration it gets worse.
