Slow and noisy pickup for 2013 Q5 2.0 T Prem Plus
Hi All,
I just bought my first car (2013 Audi Q5 2.0 T Prem Plus with MMI) three weeks back and I am loving it so far.
I have noticed few things in the car and wanted to discuss it with someone and find out if it is common or am I expecting too much from the car.
1. At very slow speeds I experienced some jerk between transmissions once. Has anyone else experienced it?
2. With two adults the pickup is good but with 4 adults starting the car from a stationary position and up the ramp the pickup is slow and a bit noisy. Is this expected or some problem with my car?
Would really appreciate all your inputs.
Regards
KPA

It might just take some getting used to. The Q5 is a heavy vehicle at around 4,100 lbs., with 4 adults it's probably around 4,800 or so. The small 2.0 engine, even though it's turbocharged is pulling a lot of weight and will make some noise in the process, and need a little extra time to get up to speed. If nothing else seems wrong with the performance it's probably normal.

First WELCOME !
with any new vehicle you and it need to get used to each other
The 8 speed was what sold me on this Q and it works flawlessly for us...
but still I can make it stumble if I do the wrong throttle movement when it's trying to decide if I'm accelerating or slowing
I will say there was a tsb for the previous years tranny,
And, with an 8 speed tranny, it might be as simple as some throttle input at the wrong time 'fools' the tcm such that it doesn't know whether to upshift or not.... with 8 gears to go thru, there is more opportunity to push it just as it is ready to shift ...
put a few miles on it to see if it starts to break in a bit...
then speak to your dealer....
