I may be purchasing a 2013 A3 CPO soon and the only concern I have is the headrest. During the test drive, the headrest was so far forward the back of my neck started to hurt.

We saw a button on the side of the head rest, but we still couldn't rotate the headrest back when we pushed the button.

Yes you should be able to move the head rest up and down and forward and back. I don't think the button is a lock, but is more of a release that you push when it's fully forward or up. You might have needed to just move it fully forward for the release to allow it to go back to square one.

you adjust the front/back position of the headrest by rotating the headrest so the top of the headrest goes back and forth. They have to be very stiff in order to hold back one's head so they don't get a whiplash.
