Default Rear seat entertainment

Has anyone looked into or added rear seat entertainment to the 2012 A6? I am interested, but am hesitant to go the aftermarket route.

Best solution these days in my opinion is a couple of iPads in head rest mounts. No cables, discs etc. Sound can be bluetoothed to the AMI or headphones. Games, movies, Internet etc all in one device. My DVD system from previous car is rotting in the garage...

I had inquired about any "Audi" options for rear seat entertainment on 2012 A6. There is a DVD headrest that dealer can install that is normally an option on Q7 but can be installed on A6. It costs $1995 for two.

I agree the iPad locution makes the most sense, but I'm not sure the headrest solutions would work with the S6 sport seats. Any thoughts?

I use Brodit brackets and holders. not sure about the S6, but they typically have a solution for every car and device

I use a CoulVue in my wife's SUV. Is on-off installation and very sleek and sturdy. Haven't tried it in my car as my kids seem fine with Video in Motion.

Here in the UK we have the option to specify a factory fit solution. There is a good picture of it on Page 49 of the UK brochure http://www.audi.co.uk/content/dam/au...loon-avant.pdf. It looks as if all that is actually done at the factory is put in the cables for power and the brackets on the seats to take the displays which come from the dealer. Whether this can be retrofitted (or even if Audi would make the parts available) is a different matter
