Got my AR back this afternoon. Noticed quite a difference in the smoothness of the engine. That's not saying much though... as my engine has always been a smooth operator.... it's just smoother now.

Steering --- firmed up quite a bit. Feels very much like the Euro-Allroad that I drove back in January 2012 ------- LOVE IT!!!

And... best of all.... all my VAG settings are intact!

I had the steering code update done yesterday and honestly I can't really tell the difference. Doesn't mean others would have the same experience though.

The thing is - you already have a Stasis tune and a modified suspension, so that's already an improvement from the stock set-up.
And one day will not show much difference, if you just drove like 5 miles. It took me about 1 week of driving about 200 miles to really feel the stark difference.

Well, despite the firmware update my 'notchiness' returned. Although originally I thought it was sub-freezing temp related it's also happened in the rare warmer temps we've had this Winter.

However, I saw a tip elsewhere to turn the wheel lock-to-lock prior to setting off and it is flawless since doing so (a couple weeks now).

I've had to do a similar range of motion calibration on electro-mechanical flight controllers so this is not so alien.

Audi really should research more deeply and improve the system if electric power steering is to be the future standard.
