Headrest Tilt Mod
Hello!
Question from a new member. My introduction here:
https://www.audiworld.com/forums/sho....php?t=2840917
Does the headrest in the 2013 Q5 tilt? My 2011 test drive car did NOT tilt (or I couldn't figure it out), and I can't find it forum searches.
For some reason, my neck really doesn't like the headrests in MOST new cars. (BMW X1, Volvo S40, 2011 Q5). I assume this is a newer safety feature, my current car is a 2001
Subaru, it feels great, but I can REALLY lean my head back.
I have seen several Audi head rest tilt modification threads. Has anyone done this to a Q5? Does it even work in a Q5? Can someone check the underside of their headrests? Thanks! :-)

Yes, the NHTSA safety standards for head restraints changed for all vehicles starting around model year 2006 or 2007 if my memory is correct. Headrests for all new vehicles are relatively uncomfortable compared to older vehicles. I know a lot of Japanese car owners simply turn their headrest backwards to get around this issue. Not sure if that will work on our Q5s though.
