I ended up having to switch back to the old google maps for this reason. Switching back to Classic Google Maps is done through the (?) icon at the lower right. I use the send feature too much to do without it, although I do like the new google maps better otherwise.

You can also use the aforementioned "Send to Car" app on your phone or tablet w/o having to change to the old Google Map.

Yes, it's an excellent little app! I just installed and tested it. Works great! There have been many times I wished I had this... I've often retyped an address I received on the phone onto google maps on a computer just so I can send it to the car. This great little app allows sending it directly from the phone or slab. Brilliant.
