2012 Q7 TDI Towing Boxster Spyder to track....advice?
Hey! New to the forum but I was curious if anyone had some experience yet with towing larger loads with their Q7.
Wifey recently demanded a switch from her Avalanche LTZ to the Q7. I insisted on a TDI and we got a 2012 Prestige. Like the truck but I am a little concerned about wheelbase and towing compared to our previous Avalanche.
Anyone have any experience towing something around 5000lbs? The track is a good 4 hours away and has plenty of hills/mountains on the way. I drove the Spyder to the track last month and the drone from the exhaust combined with track tires and a little rain has me back to towing it to and from.

I use my 2010 Q7 TDI to pull my 911 SC and GT3 to tracks in WI, IL and MI all the time. I have a Featherlite open trailer as well as a Trailex enclosed trailer. The TDI tows all options with no problems at all. I have air suspension which is great for towing.

Sounds nice and I hope it works well for you since I just bought my wife one today also with the same plan of towing my TT Quattro Coupe to track events.
I'll watch for replies :-)

Here is my setup with the open trailer. Estimated weight would be around 4600 to 5000 lbs (1500 for trailer + 3100 for car). With the enclosed trailer, the total weight would be around 5500 - 6000 lbs. I use a Prodigy brake controller.

Super nice. "Q7-- A6--TT" same here. I seem to be missing the GT3 and the 911 SC though :-)
