Turbo Problem i think ?... HELP :'(
Alright im new to this forum.. There are alot of mechanics out these days and no 1 can help me with this problem.. and audi mechanics are just plain stupid and they think with there cashregisters not there brains grrr....
Firstly the names David..
I own a 1998 Audi A4T 1.8L...
i just picked the car up from a Private Seller.. cost me $(AU)9000.00.. for 200,000 clicks on the motor... yeh possibly got ripped.. but he dropped the car off to me and it was all sweet..
i was cruising around and the Engine oil Light started flashing.. and i prettey much was loosing power & then i end up with no boost.. the engine was hessitating.. and had no power what so ever.. as i kept driving i noticed the " Oil Temp Guage " was getting lower and its sitting on 60 degreess.. not so sure if thats a bad thing.. then as i pulled over it started ticking off its head.. and im like hmm okay possibly the oil pump has gone.. so i took it home.. and i gave it a service using Valvoline 10W-50 fully synthetic oil. and replaced the Fuel filter and put a Fuel injection flush in the fuel..
then as i was running the car.. there was heaps and i mean heaps of White/greyish smoke from the exhaust.. and alot of oil on the floor coming out of the exhaust.. so i checked with mechanics..
first mechanic said it was oil pump.. secons mechanic says its the lifters.. and i recon its the turbo blown..
Cause the turbo has blown.. which is causing it to have low oil pressure which is why the oil is not lubricating the Lifters.. and is pumping out smoke with oil..
Now im up for big bucks and not sure what i need..
id be very thankfull if someone could tell me what i need and also it is a Stock Turbo so if i do need to replace it what is the turbo model ect.. k04 or.....
THanks for your time...
Regards David!

Sounds like the turbo went bad. First thing you want to do is see what turbo is in there, check to see if it is a real BW 3K turbo or if the guy you bought it from stuck in some cheap turbo in there knowing that it wasn't going to last very long.

no way man dont go ebay cause the turbo they sell there are all poorly manufactured and can blow up any second they are weak, my best bet check ecstuning.com they sell k03s and k04s at a good price I was looking at the RP one ive heard they are pretty good for replicas.
Good luck!!
Good luck!!
